In the years 1937-1938, at the order of Joseph Stalin, the secret police carried out an atrocious purge which was recorded in the history as the Polish Operation of the NKVD. This act of genocide cost the lives of some 200 thousand Poles. Then came the outbreak of the Second World War and Poland's territory was divided between the Germans and the Soviets. Both occupants started the extermination of Polish elites. On the one hand, Intelligenzaktion and AB-Aktion, on the other, the massacres of 17 September and Katyn massacre. Hitler built Auschwitz for Poles, Stalin sent Poles to gulags behind the polar circle. Bolsheviks are guilty of atrocious prison massacres of 1941, and the Germans of pacification of civilians in Warsaw during the uprising. Unfortunately, Poles were also victims of crimes committed by "fellow" nations. In Ponary near Vilnius the trigger was pulled by the Lithuanians, in Volhynia and Eastern Galicia there was a massacre by Ukrainian nationalists. And after the war the communist terror started. As result, during two horrific decades 1937-1956 the Polish nation was decimated. Our elites were murdered, the nation's backbone was broken. The consequences of this dramatic shedding of blood can be felt to this day and will be felt by future generations of Poles. It is virtually impossible to make up for the losses we suffered. In this album we present some of the largest acts of genocide against the Polish nation: Intelligenzaktion, bloodbath in Volhynia, and massacre in Katyn. We dedicate this album to the forgotten Polish victims.".
