Report prepared for a Pro-Chinese Activist Group posing as a student organization, a common practice, even back then, for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). This Report refers to the 1974 incident between Chinese and Vietnamese forces over the Hsisha (Shisha, Xisha or Paracel) Islands and the Nansha (Spratly) Islands. The ownership of the islands remains hotly contested. China, Vietnam, and Taiwan all claim de jure sovereignty, although the PRC has de facto control of the islands.
