Audio CD. Condition: Neu. Neu -Man wird Monteux nicht ganz gerecht, wenn man ihn als reinen Modernisten einstuft. Einerseits enthielt sein ungeheuer umfangreiches Repertoire auch viele klassisch-romantische Werke; andererseits kamen etwa die Komponisten der Zeiten Wieder Schule, Schönberg Berg und Webern, nicht darin vor. Ebenso… wenig wie mit deren Expressionismus und ihrer zwölftönigen Musik konnte er mit den großformatigen Symphonien Bruckners und Mahlers anfangen. Er habe es mit Mahlers Zweiter, Vierter und Fünfter versucht aber gemerkt,'dass ich mit dem Herzen nicht dabei bin'. Möglicherweise wirkte hier die persönliche Begegnung mit Mahler nach: Als Monteux 1910 in Paris den Chor für die'Auferstehungssymphonie'einstudierte, hatte Mahler dirigiert, wobei er nur'schimpfte und tobte und es nicht für nötig hielt, mir zu danken. Er war ein ausgezeichneter dirigent aber höchst unliebenswürdig'. Von Anfang an und zeit seines Lebens entsprach sein Selbstverständnis dem französischen Ideal. Er war durch und durch Klassizist, strebte nach Klarheit, Präszision und struktureller Durchhörbarkeit, nach unaufdringlicher Eloquenz und Klangschönheit.\\n Deutsch, Englisch, Französisch.
