Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. An excellent copy of the scarce 1923 edition (First, thus) by the Societas Rosicruciana in Anglia (SRIA),of this introduction to the enigmatic Rosicrucian Brotherhood, a secret society that emerged in early modern Germany. It blends historical narratives, philosophical discussions, a…nd mystical insights to describe the fraternity's origins, beliefs, and practice. Regarded as a foundational text in Western esotericism, shedding light on a world where science and spirituality intertwined in the pursuit of hidden truth. This is a very good copy indeed. Pages are excellent: aside from tanning to FEPs (see photos) and a little spotting to early pages, there are no inscriptions, marks or tears. Binding is tight. Boards have retained their original deep colour and are very clean and tidy. Spine is superlative: often a weak point in this edition, but here it is bright and clean with no fading or marking. Photos show how excellent the spine and boards are in terms of colour retention, cleanliness and lack of flaws. A really excellent copy of a rare, important book which is very collectable for the collector of esoteric books. See photos all of which are of the copy for sale, we don't use stock photos.
