Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Book size about 5 1/2 by 7 1/2 inches with some 217 pages. Bound in purple cloth with gilt lettering. The author claims that over 60,000 women died each year from the abuses suffered in the 'white slave trade'. This fictional tale tells the fate of these women who are lured into prostitution through various means, often by force. The author states that he could not publish a book with the true depths of degradation exposed which is understandable considering the mores of the time. Nonetheless a searing indictment of forced prostitution. Corners bumped; covers rubbed; stain on rear cover; previous owner name in pencil at the front. GOOD.
