1st in imprint, paperback, 252pp, [iv] ads., #S448, coloured pictorial upper wrapper, a contemporary account by a Belgian fighter pilot of his escape in 1940 from Belgium and and then France to England, joining the Royal Air Force in time for the Battle of Britain, with 145 Squadron flying from Tangmere and 609 Squadron from Biggin Hill. The author later died in a flying accident in 1942 but he left behind notebooks found after his death containing his thoughts and impressions of each day's battles, edited by a fellow ex-patriot RAF flyer Victor Houart, slight slant and creasing to spine, rubbed at extrems., light creasing upper wrapper, edges tanned, very good,
