Add to basketRoyal octavo. Ten volumes, uniformly bound. Large paper edition, limited to 250 copies. Bound in half vellum with buff coloured cloth; brown decorations stamped to the front board and gold gilt lettering and decorations stamped to the spine. Top edge of text block trimmed. Illustrated with black and white plates, some folding. Previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown. Rubbing along the edges and bumping to some of the corners. Abrasion to the cloth on the back board of the first volume and a small ink stain near the top edge of the back board of the fourth volume. Wear and minor soiling to the spines of the first four volumes. Mild toning to the endpapers and occasional foxing throughout. Overall, a very good and complete set. This set is #202 from a limited edition of 250 copies and contains Lord Braybrooke's notes and was also edited with additions by Henry B. Wheatley, F. S. A. An attractively bound set of this work by Pepys, who was an administrator of the navy of England and Member of Parliament; Pepys was most famous for the diary that he kept for a decade while still a relatively young man.
