See a photo for the table of contents. "The revolutionary events in Russia in 1917 had an immediate and lasting effect in Britain. At the fiftieth anniversary of the October Revolution, Robin Page Arnot describes what happened here at the time - the varied reactions of the Press, the wild speculations when the Revolution started and the no less wild lies when it became clear it had won; the reactions in Parliament and in the political parties of the Establishment; and the reactions in the Labour Movement. He follows the events from the announcement of the abdication of the Tsar to the end of the wars of intervention." /// Cloth binding with dust jacket; hardback, 191 pp., 8° (14 x 22 cm), dust jacket slightly worn and yellowed, front endpaper with owner's signature written with pen, condition: very good Book Language/s: English.
