Its full title is Machinery's Handbook for Machine Shop and Drafting-Room, a Reference Book on Machine Design and Shop Practice for the Mechanical Engineer, Draftsman, Toolmaker, and Machinist. It was launched in 1914 and, at its 32nd edition, remains the bible for metal-working, design, engineering and manufacturing. One of its useful features is thumb tabs, available for Log Tables, Trig Tables, Mechanics, Strength of Materials, Gearing, Bolts and Screws, Screw Threads, Limits Gauges, Small Tools, Speed Feeds, Steel Alloys, Motors, Weights & Measures and the massive Index. It is 1911 pages, 5" x 7" x 3". It weighs 2 1/2 lbs. This edition normally retails for $100 but, as you can see, this copy's covers are not in good shape. The inside is fine--from the preface onward, it's perfect.
