Glossy pictorial card covers, transparent plastic dust jacket, superb photography throughout and in addition a black ink dual English/ Japanese signature from revered Choreographer Ushio Amagatsu to the half title page, the book and dust jacket are in fine condition.

Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Full set of the legendary Eizo no Gendai series of photography books from 1971 - 1972. Each of these books includes original dust cover, obi (bellyband), and plastic outer cover. Additionally, eight of the ten have been signed/inscribed by the photographer. (The inscribed works are those by Ikko Narahara, Yoshihiro Tatsuki, Shomei Tomatsu, Haruo Tomiyama, Akira Sato, Yasuhiro Ishimoto, Noriaki Yokosuka, and Daido Moriyama.) The work by the late Ikko Narahara is inscribed to famous photography editor Akira Hasegawa; Narahara has corrected the English language version of his profile in his own hand in this copy. The copy by Ishimoto was signed by him in the PGI Gallery in 2007; the copy by Tomatsu was signed by him in Okinawa, when he joined Miyako Ishiuchi for a talk at the Okinawa museum in 2010. Finding individual copies of these works in complete condition has become difficult; finding signed copies all the more so. This set, including eight books uniquely personalized by the respective photographers, would certainly be the cornerstone of any important photography collection. Signed by Author(s).

Newspaper-style publication from the Workshop Photography School started by Moriyama in 1974, including articles and photographs by Fukase, Moriyama, Yokosuka, Fukase, Araki and Hosoe. Workshop Nos. 1 to 4, which are unbound newspapers, are delidate and extremely difficult to find. Condition: Some aging to the paper, slight tear at the fold where the paper has dried.
