Condition: Very Good. Softcover without dust jacket. Mild rubbing noted to glossy finish. Corners beginning to curl. Pages clean and bright. This book is about Ronald Reagan and his presidency. It is also an in-depth study of the solidarity revolution as revealed in the Club of Rome's 1978 Goals for Mankind report. This revolution, or push toward world goverment, is the result of, in Gary Allen's words, the symbiotic relationship between the mega-capitalists who seek control of the world's economy and the idealistic dreamers, such as Reagan, who see a new world order as mankind's only hope.

Clyde Henry as editor of the manuscript, which contained certain gaps that could be appropr iately bridged only by someone intimately acquainted with Dr. Macartney and his work.' (p. 12) -- `The great occasion in our church life was the semi- annual celebration of the Lord's Supper. The solemnites began with a fast on the Friday before the Communion Sabbath. Then on Saturday afternoon came the Preparatory Service, after which we marched forward to receive the "Tokens" which admitted us to the Lord's Table on the Sabbath. Then on Sabbath morning came the great celebration. First the "Action" Sermon, designed to warm our hearts with repentance, faith, and love as we came to the Table. Then the "Fencing" of the Tables; that is, stating the qualifica tions for a worthy partaking of the Communion and giving warning to the impenitent and those living in sin.The long Communion Table extended across the front of the church between the pulpit and the front pews. At one end of the Table there stood hunch-backed Elder Paisley, soberly clad in broad- cloth,to whom we handed our Tokens. Never have I seen any Communion Service which so moved me as in the Covenanter Church of my boyhood.' (p. 66 f.) VG orig. black cloth under yellow boards.

[Read before the Society, the 18th October, 1854].The Literary and Historical Society of Quebec (LHSQ) was the first scholarly or learned society in Canada. It was founded in 1824 by George Ramsay, Early of Dalhousie, governor of British North America. Its headquarters are still located in Quebec City. The Society's original aims were encyclopedic, being founded in the infancy of Canada's cultural and intellectual development. The Society gathered historical documents about Canada and republished many rare manuscripts. Research in all fields of knowledge was actively encouraged. Talks were held in the Society's reading room, the best of which were published regularly in a quasi-annual series of Transactions from 1824 to 1924.Over the years, the Society played a part in creating public institutions that would take over many of its traditional roles. For instance, it fostered the foundation of the Public Archives of Canada (today's Library and Archives Canada) in 1872. It was also active in the preservation of Canada's built and natural heritage, helping to save the Plains of Abraham from developers and eventually fostering the creation of the Historic Sites and Monuments board of Canada. With the growth of national public institutions, the Society's activities gradually became centered on the services of its private lending library, providing access to English-language books in a largely French-speaking city.
