Hardcover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. With 5 colored double-page three dimensional scenes (Pop-Ups); no published date (1897); with 21 illustrations with poems (printed in brown); 9 pages of text in English, Introduction by F. E. Weatherly, other poems by Clifton Bingham, F. Gray Severne, L. L. Weedon, Hope Myrtown; some of the illustrators: Ernest Nister, E. Stuart Hardy, H. Robenson; original illustrated paper over hard boards and cloth spine; printed in Bavaria "853"; unpaginated, patterned end-papers; size: 10 x 12-5/8in (32 cm x 25.5 cm), published in New York by the firm of E.P. Dutton who set up an exclusive arrangement with Ernest Nister to distribute and sell his books in the United States; book is tight; colors of the pop ups are still bright; all the pop-ups open up fully; Only one of the pop-up has some damage: a boy's head is missing alone with part of his fishing pole; previous owner's short "Merry Christmas" inscription & signature on front endpaper and they dated it "1897"; rubbing and small nicks to the board's edges especially the back; the pop-up with the children on bicycles have a few small circles on top edge but not near pop-ups; one of the text pages has a small tear to bottom edge; a little browning to text pages; for the period and nature of the pop-up illustrations this is one of the best copies we have seen in sometime; over all the interior and pop-ups in GOOD COND.
