Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. A near fine copy, in a very good dust jacket, of the first US edition. The red cloth binding is clean and unworn, with solid black lettering to the spine. Everything is tight and square, with unbumped corners. The contents are clean and bright with no ownership inscriptions or other markings of any kind. The exceedingly scarce dust jacket has been neatly clipped, but is otherwise complete, showing only very minor edgewear. There is a little spotting to the front face and a small damp stain to the rear. It is now protected in a removable mylar cover. From the blurb: "This book gives in simple, non-technical language the history and theory of the currency systems comprised under the term 'The Gold Standard', and the nature of their success and failure. Special attention is paid to the causes of the success of the pre-War Gold Standard and to the reasons which compelled Britain to withdraw in 1931". A very nice copy overall of this rare work.
