Soft cover. Condition: New. The early decades of 20th century witnessed two phenomenal events. The first being The Rebirth of Mendelism and the second being its extension to quantitative variation in works of Ronald Archibald Fisher entitled "The Correlation Between Relatives on the Supposition of Mendelian Inheritance". This was a reconciliation between Mendelian school of thoughts and Biometrical school of thoughts and laid the foundation of Biometrical Genetics. Since then, a non-punctuated advancement had been made in this field, which has been documented vividly in a number of literatures. However, there is always a scope for an illustrative manuscript that could provide comprehensive coverage and help the students in memorizing and inculcating the basic concepts in shortest possible time. The present book does not aim at covering the whole literature of the subject. Rather we focused on the basic concepts, formulas and an analytical approach that serve as the guiding principle in building a sound foundation of Biometrical genetics so that students can excel in various competitive exams. We have presented information that may be already available earlier books. However, we have sought new illustrative pattern for presentation of important concepts in tabular form as well as in form of points to remember. No doubt, we have also taken the opportunity to cover the sectional syllabus of ICAR- SRF, ARS and other competitive exams in Plant sciences and attempted to cover all relevant areas of Biometrical genetics. In last, we must extend our sincere thanks to our Biometrician Gurus who inspired and paved the way for preparation of this short and comprehensive book which takes almost half a decade.

Hardcover. Condition: New. Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are aircraft with no on-board crew or passengers. They can be automated 'drones' or remotely piloted vehicles (RPVs). UAV's can fly for long periods of time at a controlled level of speed and height and have a role in many aspects of aviation. The first pilotless vehicles were developed in Britain and the USA during the First World War. Britain's Aerial Target, a small radio-controlled aircraft, was first tested in March 1917 while the American aerial torpedo known as the Kettering Bug first flew in October 1918. Although both showed promise in flight tests, neither were used operationally during the war. During the inter-war period the development and testing of unmanned aircraft continued. In 1935 the British produced a number of radio- controlled aircraft to be used as targets for training purposes. It's thought the term 'drone' started to be used at this time, inspired by the name of one of these models, the DH.82B Queen Bee. Radio-controlled drones were also manufactured in the United States and used for target practice and training. Reconnaissance UAVs were first deployed on a large scale in the Vietnam War. Drones also began to be used in a range of new roles, such as acting as decoys in combat, launching missiles against fixed targets and dropping leaflets for psychological operations. This book provides an overview of the basic concepts and components of UAVs, the various sensors used, architecture of autonomous UAVs, communication tools and devices to acquire real-time data from UAVs, the software needed to analyze the UAV data, required rules and regulations to fly UAVs, various application areas. Contents Introduction History of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Military Aircraft Autonomous Aircraft Unmanned Combat Aerial Vehicle Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) Drones Unmanned Aerial Vehicle and Computer Control Systems Unmanned Ground Vehicles and Military Robot Warfare.

Hardcover. Condition: New. Chinese President Xi Jinping has called for a robot revolution in manufacturing to boost productivity. The People's Liberation Army (PLA) has announced to deploy machine gun-wielding robots along the Indo-China border. China with this tactic aims to guard the LAC region endlessly without rest, replenishment, or human casualty. The 21st century especially after the COVID-19 pandemic is shifting towards non-conventional warcraft. 'The Sharp Claws' and 'The Mule 200s' are categorized as robots operating wirelessly which might become a major cause of concern for the Indian side. The disposition of such robot soldiers at the border would bring the bilateral ties between India and China to a new low in the coming years. The nature of AI policy within China and the context within which it has emerged, by mapping the major national-level policy initiatives that express the intention to utilise AI. We identified three areas of particular relevance: international competitiveness, economic growth, and social governance (construction). The development and deployment of AI in each of these areas have implications for China and for the international community. For example, although the 'trump-card' policy to gain a military advantage may not be something new, its application to AI technologies risks igniting an arms race and undermining international stability This book evaluates the significance and potential of AI in improving China's military capabilities. Chinese official documents and their enunciation of military doctrine indicate that the country's leaders see massive promise in AI's utility and are working to leverage this emerging technology into their force posture.
