Condition: Good ++ to Very Good. 2nd Edition. xxviii, 319pp; vii, [1], 372pp; vii, [1], 340pp, uniformly bound in full red leather with gilt borders, raised bands on gilt decorated spines, all edges gilt, binding and hinges tight. With the armorial bookplate of "Right Honorable Sir Robert Peel, Bart.", (1788-1850) the British statesman and twice Prime Minister, in volumes I & II [removed from vol. III]. With a second armorial bookplate in each volume reading "Mary Rawson Amen, Memorial Collection, The Gift of Harlan Page Amen". Harlan Page Amen (1853-1913) was an American educator and Principal of Phillips Exeter Academy from 1895 to 1913. This set was deaccessioned from the Phillips Exeter Academy, with the usual library markings, which includes a back pocket and label on the back cover.
