This book delves into the classic case of an emerging great power rivalry in the heart of Asia reminiscent of the original Great Game, except this one is taking place in perhaps India's most consequential water body; the Indian Ocean Region. The book's focus is to locate India's maritime positioning amidst rapidly changing roles of China and the United States in the Indian Ocean. The discussions in the book have managed to generate a wide spectrum of thoughts incorporating aspects of both theory and practice. This volume tries to find the right balance in collating maritime perspectives from practitioners and academicians alike. One of the main purposes of this volume is to bridge the gap in discourse that exists between the Indian Ocean literature that exists in India and the emerging literature and discourse vis-à-vis the Indo-Pacific. As such, this volume underscores the importance of the seamlessness of the Indian Ocean and the Indo-Pacific that Indian policy makers should keep in mind while framing policies for this region. This volume is also a reminder why India needs to rapidly shift gears in developing its maritime capabilities and that the emergence of the Indo-Pacific might be the opportune moment for India to make up for the historical lack of strategic thinking in the maritime domain.

Preparing for a New Diplomacy: Initial Challenges. 4. Preparing for a New Diplomacy: Tying Domestic to International. 5. Double Whammy: Managing Chinese Belligerence during COVID-19. This book is an attempt to tell the story of India's fight against COVID-19 and the impact it had in reshaping of India's foreign policy. How India responded starting from the early stages of the pandemic, including ensuring the return of its people in the early stages and aid delivery at later stages, is a story that needs to be told. Indian foreign policy bore an extraordinary brunt of deliverance, even as it imposed total lockdown in a country of 1.3 billion people. This book recounts the steps taken by the Indian government and its various departments and agencies during COVID-19, the coordination. Between them and its overall impact on the nation's outlook. As the nature of diplomacy shifted from physical to virtual and trade became difficult with countries closing the border, India had to invoke its Atmanirbhar spirit to sustain the momentum of nation's collective conscience. India's diplomacy during the peak of the pandemic faced multiple challenges not just induced by the virus but also enhanced threats at the border by China. Perhaps, India's relations with great, middle and small powers have stood revised in many ways in the post-pandemic world. This book remains an unfinished project as neither has COVID-19 threat completely ended, nor have other virus-induced changes been fully restored to resume the pre-pandemic world of global relations, mobility and diplomacy.

The history of the ICWA is also the story of how a small fraternity of intellectuals and scholars sought to create and advance a wider public and civil society discourse on foreign policy and international affairs in India. They did this by establishing a world class library, bringing out a highly reputed journal the India Quarterly, fostering research and creating an India-wide fraternity of those interested deeply in India s engagement with the wider world. This was in so many ways a giant step forward in intellectual decolonisation. Each of these measures was directed towards creating an Indian perspective on world affairs by becoming a non-partisan platform for intellectual exchanges and informed discussion and debate. This is a story therefore both of great intellectual endeavour and of selfless high minded public and national service.

West-centric discourse has dominated International Relations regarding its genealogy, methodology, epistemology, and axiology. Non-western perspectives on IR are typically absent in arguments and interpretations presented in scholarly accounts. Indic perspective on International Relations addresses this gap by analysing the disciplinary crisis and advancing the Indic narrative as a viable non-western alternative. Besides, this edited volume also covers different aspects of India`s foreign policy, Indian strategic culture, and key bilateral and multilateral relations. Written by well-known scholars from an interdisciplinary perspective, this forward-looking work opens up the possibilities of rethinking International Relations from the Indic perspective.

It has been our endeavor to tailor its approach, subject matter and presentation according to the requirement of its users. The language has been kept simple and the entire discussion has been built on logical and coherent outline. Particular care has been taken to explain the complex and intricate points which help to induce a better understanding to the readers. India started its Retail Journey since ancient time. In ancient India there was a concept of weekly HAAT, where all the buyers and sellers gather in a big market for bartering. It takes a pretty long times to and step to shape the modern retail. In between these two concepts (i.e. between ancient retail concept and the modern one there exist modern kirana/mom and pop shops or Baniya ki Dukan. Still it is predominating in India, so the Indian retail industry is divided into two sectors- organized and unorganized. Retailing is one of the pillars of Indian economy and accounts for 14 to 15 percent of its GDP. The Indian retail market is estimated to be US$ 450 billion and one of the top five retail markets in the world by economic value. India is one of the fastest growing retail markets in the world, with 1.2 billion people. India's retailing industry is essentially owner manned small shops. In 2010, larger format convenience stores and supermarkets accounted for about 4 percent of the industry, and these were present only in large urban centers. India's retail and logistics industry employs about 40 million Indians (3.3% of Indian population). The book is divided into Twenty Eight chapters. The chapters redefine the management practices for a better and a prospective India. The various topics covered include Startup India: A tool for Poverty Alleviation, Retailing in Digital India, Rural Retailing: Opportunities and Challenges, E-Commerce and its Future in India etc.

The basic principle of controlled/living radical polymerization is fundamental to the creation of new radical polymerization techniques including atom transfer radical, and reversible addition-fragmentation transfer polymerization. These discoveries bring new life to the field of free radical polymerization; indeed, an abundance of polymer materials with different topologies have been prepared. I hope that this Special Topic on ¿Functional Controlled/Living Radical Polymers: Synthesis, Kinetics and Physico-chemical Properties¿ will cultivate new ideas and catalyze discoveries in every reader¿s laboratory. This book is aimed to provide information related to the newest controlled radical polymerization methodology, ATRP and RAFT, their required components and their advantages and necessities. I demonstrates that how simple molecule selectively arrange as different topology like linear, star, multi arm polymers containing functional groups for various applications.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 132 pp. Englisch.

Neuware -The objective of this study was to understand the pitfalls of the poor oocyte cleavage and subsequent embryo production by assessing the developmental competence of the oocytes in buffalo using parthenogenesis as a model which was compared with IVF (natural activation). Buffalo ovaries were collected from slaughter house and matured oocytes were subjected to either IVF (control) or chemical activation (treatment)[7% ethanol (ET)for 7 min + 2.5 mM 6-Di methyl amino purine (6-DMAP) for 4 hr, or 7% ET for 7 min + 10 ug/ml Cycloheximide (CHX) for 6 hr or 7% ET for 7 min + 2.5 mM 6-DMAP + 10 ug/ml CHX for 6 hr]. Fertilized and chemically activated oocytes were cultured in mSOF medium for 8 days to study embryo development. In conclusion, the results of parthenogenesis, revealed that buffalo oocytes had better inherent developmental competence and the poor cleavage and embryo development following IVF, in our study, may partly be due to the poor quality of frozen-thawed sperm, improper sperm capacitation and/ or fertilization. Further, high ambient temperature adversely affected the cleavage and embryo development following IVF.Books on Demand GmbH, Überseering 33, 22297 Hamburg 140 pp. Englisch.
