Paper Wraps. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Clean and tidy original theatre programme for Edward Knoblock's play, Grand Hotel, based on the novel by Vicki Baum. It ran for 147 performances at the Adelphi Theatre in London's West End between September 1931 and January 1932. The cast included Hugh Williams, Ursula Jeans, Elena Miramova, Lyn Harding, George Merritt and Everley Gregg. Its release was pushed back several times. Much of the play's appeal revolved around its large cast and special effects. The programme has numerous photos from the play, advertisements from the era, cast list, etc. The red printed paper wraps are rubbed to the extremities, with some creasing to the corner, but overall is in GOOD TO VERY GOOD condition. Clean and tidy throughout - a scarce piece of theatre history. Book.

FIRST EDITION. Octavo (24 x 16cm), pp.189; [3]. Publisher's card wraps with a design by Man Ray, lettered in black. Together with a note from the publishers to a subscriber plus a Christmas greeting. Toned to edges, some light wear to covers. Near fine.
