Add to basketVintage double-weight photograph of producer Michael Todd with actress Claudette Colbert at New York's famed Stork Club, circa 1940s. Stamp of the club's in-house photographer Ernest Brooks on the verso. Over the course of his short career in show business, Todd worked as a producer for theatre and film, most notably producing the 1956 Academy Award-winning film "Around the World in 80 Days." He is perhaps best remembered now as Elizabeth Taylor's third husband, the only one whom she did not divorce (Todd died in a plane accident a year after their marriage). Founded in 1929 at 132 West 58th Street by a former bootlegger, the Stork Club served as a symbol of café society for the wealthy elite of New York. After being raided by Prohibition agents in 1931, the club moved to East 51st Street, where it remained until its closure in 1965. 10 x 8 inches. Very Good plus, lightly age toned.
