New jolly illustrations in colour, many full page, by Roy Meldrum. The cats, fully clothed, are rather tall and stand on their hind legs. 160 lines of immortal verse. Extremities lightly worn, bookseller's small label on front pastedown, no inscriptions. A very good plus copy, (lacks dustwrapper). Based on the 1885 version for which Ruskin wrote 4 new verses, originally published in 1823. Meldrum is little known but contributed a large number of illustrations to the Joy Street Annuals.
