The title piece is a football-related poem as is the next, "Poe's Kick"; also includes "Kelly's Hit", a "Casey At The Bat"-style poem about a Princeton-Yale baseball game and "Steinwender's Catch" (also baseball). Very good, spotting to the cloth, especially the rear cover. Ownership signature of a member pof the Princeton Class of 1902 and date of 12/1/04 on the front free endpaper. The front pastedown bears the '02 Class members stamp and there is also affixed a bookplate from a descendant who was a member of the Class of '36.

Many small black-and-white illustrations, complete. Former owners' signature and brief inscription in black ink on front free endpaper. Pages are very clean and intact except for light to moderate age toning. Covers are very clean and intact except for light rubbing to front and back, slight wear to extremities, and light to moderate rubbing along spine. Spinal lettering has been completely rubbed off. A Very Good copy. This is a collection of comedic and satirical poetry about college sports and football at Princeton University. The author is credited as M'Cready Sykes, although at least one online source references Booth Tarkington as a co-author. Tarkington, William B. Pell, and Harold Imbrie are officially credited as providing the pictures or illustrations that accompany the text. Booth Tarkington (1869-1946) was an American author and playwright. He is only one of four authors to date who won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction more than once. He won two Pulitzer Prizes for his novels, The Magnificent Ambersons (1918) and Alice Adams (1921).
