The intro. notes that Western views of that time and place are somewhat common, but native Cambodian views of it are NOT - because autobiography is not a usual activity of the oriental mind. 287 pages. Cond: Black boards, undecorated, with silver spine lettering. D.J. is also black with a colour cover illus. - Yellow torso, over green leaves background - former being HELD down by brown hands. VERY GRAPHIC. Except for minor chipping and one sm. wrinkle/crease on d.j. top edge, this one approaches AS NEW ! Clean but edges lightly yellowed. No names, nor folds, nor tears but a BLACK `R' on end-paper. TIGHTand bright !! Quote (p.104) : " I stood by the gate again. A new group arrived.
