"Dr. Max Rieser attempts to deduce the essence of poetic thinking not from the content of the poem, as is usually done, but from the poem's form. Accordingly, he analyzes the rhythm and rime patterns, the sound patterns and their symbolic meaning, the figures of speech and other such formal components. Thus, he regards himself as departing from the methods of Freudian and Jungian interpreters.".
