Here is authenticated data on fifty-seven men who have had a "speaking" part in making Texas the great state it has become. There are 465 period pictures, most never before published, of Texas Rangers made during their "badge-toting" days. In addition to biographical sketches of each of these men, there are numerous pictures of the gear they used - their guns, badges, holsters, hand cuffs, leg irons, boots, hats, leather cuffs, chaps, spurs, saddles, etc. A few of the more notable rangers included in this study are John Coffee Hays, Ben McCulloch, William Alexander "Big Foot" Wallace, John R. Hughes, William Jesse "Bill" McDonald, Frank Hamer, Manuel T. "Lone Wolf" Gonzaullas, Homer Garrison Jr., Clinton Peoples, and Walter Russell. A fascinating book. The Book is in Fine condition with only light use. The Dust Jacket has some wear along the edges and at the spine ends. It is about Very Good. The Dust Jacket is now protected in a "Brodart" style cover. Overall a very nice copy at a reasonable price. Inscribed by Author(s).
