The book features end-paper maps of the Overland Route from the Missouri River to California and Reid's diary is a rich account of the Overland experience and the adventures in the gold fields of California. Has some b&w map-work of the Oregon Trail and is sprinkled with b&w illustrations from the nineteenth century. 247 pages.
