Signed by Apollo 11 command module pilot, Michael Collins, on the title page. Michael Collins (1930-2021) was an American astronaut and a retired United States Air Force Major General. He served as the Command Module Pilot for NASA's Apollo 11 mission in July 1969, during which Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first humans to land on the Moon. Collins remained in lunar orbit aboard the Command Module while Armstrong and Aldrin explored the lunar surface. Prior to his time at NASA, Collins was a test pilot and an Air Force pilot. He later held various administrative positions within NASA before retiring from both the Air Force and NASA in 1970. Collins authored several books and continued to advocate for space exploration until his passing on April 28, 2021.
