Also wissense nee. The handwritten letter (1 page) on hotel paper *Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten, Hamburg* apparently from 1967 (somewhat illegible) with 16 lines of writing. / The beautiful typewritten letter with signature dated September 14, 1969 with postal return address* Kurt W. Marek, 370 John Joy Road - Woostock, New York 12498*: ".after a dreadful flight I have arrived here: thirteen hours in the air, then landing in Boston in the middle of the night instead of New York because we ran out of fuel. And now I have been in the hospital for three days. I have been diagnosed with intestinal ulcers, and now I am on a torturous diet. It's all disgusting. It's a good thing the rest of the family is in great spirits." ( with signature ) ( The letter in an old airmail envelope from the USA ) / 1 typewritten letter from October 1969 ( postmarked October 21, 1969 ) with signature, mainly with questions about Marek's health *My brief message to you the other day that I might need surgery has triggered a flood of letters. Some people already think I'm dead. Yesterday I received a call from Munich from TV personality Khuon, who wanted me for some program against Mr. Däniken (the Econ author), and who, upon inquiry from Rowohlt, had been told that I was on my way to Germany to undergo a difficult operation. The Kölnische Zeitung published pictures of Ledig, Raddatz, and others in connection with the *affair* - "well-informed circles" knew that the old chief editor would now become the new editor-in-chief after Raddatz. So, you know, no. antibiotics and a strict diet lasting several weeks and consultation with a New York specialist have led to no surgery being attempted on old Marek for the time being. Sincerely, your old Marek* (in a handwritten envelope) / 1 color postcard from Marek, postmarked August 17, 1973 in Kyoto (with 6-line autograph). / also enclosed: 1 typewritten letter (carbon copy) on behalf of Kurt W. Marek to Dr. Albrecht Knaus concerning a partial fee for the book Masada and the publication of a private letter from Marek to the publisher as an advertising measure / 1 reply letter to Marek regarding a book by Ernst von Salomon and regarding Marek's presumed ill health.) (Storage location GW) (More pictures on request) / Item 12142.
