Staple-bound paperback; H 24.25cm x L 18.25cm. Dark blue paper covers rubbed, spine ends nicked, small stain on rear cover. Binding remains firm and pages are clean. B/w p…hotographs throughout. Advertisements on initial and terminal Arabic and Roman numerated pages. Primary text section (pages 1-120 with Table of Contents on page viii) comprised of various articles of some historical content regarding the unit's storied past but most reviewing the regiment's activities in the past calendar year. Among the articles is one titled "Operation Drake" reviewing a military exercise in Panama by Major J.G. Groves on pages 65-69 which includes an autographed letter signed on a small card by the Major Groves and addressed simply to "Sam" who is dutifully mentioned in the article as a "friendly insurance tycoon" who let the unit use his telex machine (the individual is, in fact, Sam Scales [Lt. Colonel Samuel W. Scales, 1920-2005] who served as Chairman of the Board of American Bristol Insurance Company as this book was acquired indirectly from the Scales estate). A very good copy.
