Hardbound. Condition: As New. New. Contents 1. Introduction. 2. Soil resource evaluation. 3. Remote sensing. 4. Soil classification. 5. Soil productivity constraints. 6. Assessment of irrigation water quality. References. The book Soil Resource Inventory and Management of Problematic Soils cover almost all the significant aspects in six different chapters. One of the primary objectives of this book is to provide comprehensive information on methods of land evaluation and problem soils. This book has been prepared based on undergraduate course of Soil Science Syllabi of Agricultural Universities of India. It covers different types and methods of soil resource inventory classification based on soil taxonomy and land evaluation methods for scientific land use planning. An attempt has been made to include remote sensing for inventorying mapping of soils and its applications in agriculture. The chapter 5 defines the characteristics of physical and chemical oriented soil problem and remedial measures to regain the quality of soil back to its original or normal productivity form. The concentration and composition of dissolved constituents in a water determine its quality for irrigation purpose. The last chapter 6 forms an important supplement to evaluate the quality of irrigation water for agriculture based on various criteria. This textbook will be useful not only to the undergraduate students but also to the Scientists of Agricultural Universities. 184 pp.
