Magarge offers an emotional tribute to the life and death of a Miss Clarissa Howell Slingluff, who died of consumption at age twenty-one. The anonymous printer utilized over five type faces and an elaborate ornamental border to produce this tribute to young Miss. Slingluff. "O ! insatiable death ! why would you not release your grasp of one so dear ! But we should not repine--we would not wish these back Clarissa, to a vain, deceitful world, whose vicissitudes thou art safely beyond, mingling with the sainted spirits of a 'better land". Uncommon.
