There are 85 monochrome illustrations printed in gravure, and these include many taken by Forrest himself of the plants in their natural habitats. There are also five color plates which include some of his most outstanding introductions such plants as Gentiana sinoornata, Rhododendron Griersonianum Primula malacoides and Pieris Forrestii. Color folding map tipped in at rear, index, 252 pages. Clean unmarked copy, dust jacket has two tears at bottom of front panel, some light wear to edges, dj in mylar.
