In retirement, Macmillan published a six-volume autobiography, which included: Winds of Change 1914-1939, The Blast of War 1939-1945, Tides of Fortune 1945-1955, Riding the Storm 1956-1959, Pointing the Way 1959-1961 and At the End of the Day 1961-1963. His final publication, War Diaries: Politics and War in the Mediterranean, January 1943-May 1945 was a commercial success. This important work argues for a centrist approach (the front cover shows images of both hammer and sickle and fascist bundle), which was still considered feasible in the late 1930s. A nice association copy of a scarce and influential book. Please email with questions or to request photos. If you see a photo beside this listing, please be aware that it's an ABE Stock Photo (whatever that is) and not a photo of this book (although they sometimes get right). Signed by Author(s). …
