TITLE : The Beau of Bath and Other One Act Plays of Eighteenth Century Life AUTHOR : Constance D'Arcy Mackay (1887 - 1966) IMPRINT : Walter H. Baker Company PLACE : The Play House, Boston, Massachusetts DATE : ( March 1937) EDITION : Reprint [ Special Edition printed for Walter H. Baker - Original Copyright held by Henry Holt & Co. ] STATUS : OP DETAILS : Trade paperback; presents six one-act plays; contains four monochrome illustrations (including frontispiece) printed on calendered paper - there are arranged through the text; has a Preface; [viii] + 90 pages; approximately 4 7/8" x 7 3/8" (covers have slightly extended edges on top-, bottom- and fore-edge); stiff decorated wraps - title printed on spine and front cover in dark red on buff - the title on the front cover is surrounded by an ornate floral border. The plays are listed at the foot of the front cover. Rear cover is blank. CONDITION -- GOOD ONLY -- This is a previously owned book that remains clean and serviceable, with the following particulars noted: EXTERIOR -- A damp stain displays on the bottom half of the spine, extending irregularly onto the covers no more than half an inch at greatest extent - as delineated by a tide line (Hence the condition grade) - this is there but seems not so egregious as describing it makes it seem (or I am fashioning the proverbial silk purse?). Else the covers Which have a slight yawn) are clean. There are a few nicks and dents to cover edges, and the spine extremities are compressed and nicked. Text-block edges are clean. BINDING -- Tight INTERIOR -- Clean and unmarked throughout. Top leaf corner tips are slightly bumped - the resulting creases are quite shallow - or near negligible. No writing. No marginalia.
