Vol 1 part 1 and Vol 1 part 2 covering 1833 to 1863 are dated 1927 and are 902 pages in total. Vol 2 1863 to 1921 is dated 1964 and is a first edition of the revised and updated edition by C R Clinker and is 362 pages. All boards are in excellent to virtually as new condition with bright lettering on the spines. . All bindings are sound and tight. The first two vols are in publishers tan cloth. The third volume is in publishers red tan cloth with silver lettering. Volume 1 part was owned by R.S. Brydon, Bridge Engineer based at Euston and bears his signature and the date 20th March 1948 on the front free end paper. The frontis plate of Charles Russell is as new. Vol 1 part 2 bears the stamp of the Chief Engineer's Office LM and SR Euston dated 1st November 1927 and the frontis foldout map is in as new condition. All pastedowns of the two volumes are very clean and bright. The free end papers have a light amount of browning. Volume 2 is in very good condition overall. (Revised by C.R. Clinker). The front pastedown and the front free end paper have 4 stamps saying "Price Reduced" otherwise the end papers are all bright and clean. The dust wrapper is in very good condition with one or two small tears and creases at some of the corners. It bears the price 55/-.Contents of all three volumes are virtually as new. Vol 1 Part 1 has a slight chip out of edge of rear board extending for about 2 cm but this is not serious This lovely set looks smart on the bookshelf and is in generally excellent condition overall. Price of this set is nett to all. Size: 6.25" - 9.25" Tall.
