Tan dust jacket well soiled and toned particularly along spine; 10cm closed tear ascending from front panel's lower left; other shorter tears and shallow chipping at edges; dj now presented in a mylar Brodart protector. Original black cloth; mild mottling to front board and spine but with stronger occurrence to rear board; paper title labels on spine and front board are clean. Dark top edge; deckle fore-edge. Past owner's November 1937 ink inscription on front free endpaper; interior pages are clean. Binding is firm. A very good- copy in a good+ dust jacket of Andrew Lytle's classic biography of General Forrest which was the first book by the renowned scholar, poet, novelist, University of the South-Sewanee professor, and member of the Vanderbilt University Southern Agrarians. {CivilWar-Shelf#7}.
