4to. 160 pp. Text illustrations by Marchioni, Wesso, Brown, Hopper, Saaty, Thompson. Colour-illustrated softcovers, cover art by Harold V. Brown (uniform light interior toning as usual, faint tidemark to front cover, chipping w/ loss to spine, edgewear), Fair copy. First edition of this very scarce, and original publication of conclusion of Lovecraft's highly regarded, "At the Mountains of Madness" rejected originally by Weird Tales for its' length, and originally published here in Astounding Stories. This issue marks one of the earliest after Tremaine had made the decision to eliminate the yapp fore-edges in the Astounding Stories pulps, so they were now exactly trimmed to the textblock.
