She was descended from some of New York's prominent Jewish families. Part One includes a biography of Adeline Moses Loeb and Carl M. Loeb, along with a memoir by one of their daughters; Part 2 is a brief review of some of the accomplishments of the Loeb descendants by Ambassador John l. Loeb, Jr.; and part 3 consists of eleven chapters of genealogy of the Loeb and Moses ancestors prepared by genealogist Judith Endelman. The book is richly illustrated with photographs and genealogical charts, including a large fold-out chart in a pocket attached to the back cover.
