First Edition
Octavo, sixteen inserted plates with photographic illustrations, original decorated blue cloth, front and spine panels stamped in gold, cream endpapers. First edition. Eleven short stories. Regionalistic and somewhat sentimental English fiction, often about children (though this is definitely not a children's book). The photographs are a little unusual in using posed individuals to illustrate the stories. 1902 Christmas gift inscription on front free endpaper. Cloth rubbed at spine ends, corner tips and along outer joints, some foxing to edges of text block, endpapers tanned, a very good copy. (#116510).
