Illustrated by Lodge with charming full-page and smaller black-and-white images. Spine a bit creased, with subtle color renewal at ends.

Pictorial paper front board shows older child reading a book to young child sat on her lap and two young girls at her feet with cats around. 6 Chromolithographs and many b/w illustrations. Some surface paper loss to lower front corner of covers, edges rubbed, corners worn. Boards scuffed and marked. Front endpaper missing. Joints pulled. Small closed tear and slight loss to lower corner of half-title page. Page-edge browning. A few marks to contents but generally a nice copy with all plates present. Packaged with care and promptly dispatched!
