Interior bright and clean, the odd mark here and there. Prize inscription in black ink to preliminary leaf, dated to 1888. Boards slightly scuffed, spine a tad sunned. Some wear to joints and extremities, corners gently bumped. Very good. Charles and Mary Lamb's famous prose re-tellings of Shakespeare, intended for the enjoyment of children. This edition features illustrations from the Boydell project, an artistic venture which capitalised on the mid-18th century Shakespeare revival in England.
