Soft cover. Condition: Good. 1st Edition. Kernaghan, Eileen, Edith Surridge and Patrick Kernaghan. The upper left-hand corner : a writer's guide for the Northwest. First edition. Vancouver: J. J. Douglas, 1975. Paperback, Good. Covers have a diagonal creaase to front, shelfwear to edges and a few small marks. Binding strong. Ownership signature and phone number to half-title page. 119pp., b/w illustrations. "The original 1975 edition was the first ever co-published project by a British Columbia publisher (J. J. Douglas) and a Seattle press (Madrona Publishers). During the early seventies there was an explosion of regional publishing throughout the northwest -- much of it environmental, small press literary, alternative and radical -- but there was no single source of information for writers who wanted to take advantage of these markets. What we put together was a kind of Whole Earth Catalogue for northwest writers. It was a modest bestseller and went through several editions. Now, of course, all that painstakingly compiled information is readily available on the internet" (author interview). RightWayUp Books aims to provide accurate and detailed descriptions.
