This book prov…ides a means for a laboratory to assess the accuracy of its spectral transmittance measurement capabilities. A laboratory which participates in this program will be sent a package of transmittance filters which have been measured at NBS. These are to be measured by the laboratory on its spectrophotometer(s) and returned, together with the measurement results, to NBS. NBS will then remeasure the filters and send a final analysis of the result to the participating laboratory. The range of filter measurements provided in the MAP package permits an evaluation of the accuracy of a laboratory's spectral transmission measurements and will often reveal the cause of systematic errors if any exist. This publication describes the contents and use of this MAP package.
