Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. Cam (illustrator). 1st Edition. The Bull That Was Terrifico. By Karel Jaegar. Illustrated by Cam . Published by Putnam in 1955. A First Edition. Signed by the author with a dedication that reads 'For Margaret. With Uncle Mac's love and best wishes for Christmas, Karel Jaegar Dec. 11. 55.' Also written on the top right hand corner of the same page, 'First Edition No 18". 129'. The boards are of bright blue cloth decorated with gilt lettering. The text has decoration to almost every page, the illustrations being integral to, and often surrounding, the text. The cover shows an image of Terrifico, a bull that is supposed to be the most ferocious ever known, and Don Barcelo, a matador that is afraid to fight him. The story describes 'the most remarkable bull fight that ever happened'. Condition of book: Near fine. The bottom 1/4 inch of the spine is a little faded, the third to last page and the top of the end block is a very little foxed. Condition of dust jacket: Very Good. It is complete but a little worn particularly at the top with two closed tears being of 1/2 inch and 3/4 of an inch in length. Light foxing shows particularly to the reverse and the flaps. Signed by Author(s).
