John competed in many long-distance international events, including the famous London to Sydney Marathon of 1968. Although he campaigned many different cars, from the humble Austin A35 through to Porsches, it is for his giant-killing feats in the Sprite that he will always be best remembered. The story of this car is also told by Tom Coulthard, including a full production history, with details of drivers and competition results, all from totally new research making this in effect two books in one.

He has added, in his own hand, the encouraging word "Livestrong!" under his signature. The book is a chronological history of the racing record of the Sprite. It includes a wide selection of vintage black and white photographs, with many of the subject automobile. The appendices include notes, a record of the Sebring Sprite in competition from 1959 to 1962 (date, location, event, driver, result), the Sebring Sprite Register, as well a technical specifications of the Sprite. This is a very good to near fine copy with bumped corners. The jacket has corresponding signs of wear at the corners. Signed by Author(s).
