At the forefront of a revolution in publishing, Kidd's iconic covers, with their inventive marriage of type and found images, have influenced an entire generation of design practitioners in many fields.Chip Kidd: Book One collects all of his book covers and designs for the first time, as well as hundreds of developmental sketches and concepts-annotated by Kidd and by many of the best-selling authors he's worked with over the years. The result is an important contribution to the design canon today as well as a visually dazzling (and often hilarious) insider's look at the design and publishing process. The book also showcases Kidd's work with comics and graphic novels, including his collaborations with leading artists and writers in the field. Featured are projects for DC Comics, including Batman and Superman, as well as Kidd's award-winning exploration of the art of Charles M. Schulz. Chip Kidd: Book One is sure to enthrall design aficionados, book lovers, pop-culture fanatics, comics fans, and design students. / Chip Kidd is associate art director at Alfred A. Knopf. His first novel, The Cheese Monkeys, was a national bestseller and a New York Times Notable Book of the Year. He is the editor-at-large for Pantheon and the author of Peanuts: The Art of Charles M. Schulz, Batman Collected, and others. He is presently at work on a second novel, The Learners. He lives in New York City and Stonington, Connecticut." - Publisher. Size: Oblong. Collectible.

Hardcover. Condition: As New. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. First Edition. AS NEW BOOK IN NEAR FINE JACKET. First Edition, 4th Printing, 2001, so stated. Self-published by the author. By far the most complete book ever written on Mill Creek Park. Complete history and guidebook to Mill Creek, a large nature preserve and lake system existing within the boundaries of the City of Youngstown, Ohio. Includes dozens of photos and endpaper maps of the park. A heavy, very well-made book bound in green cloth textured to look like leather (leatherette), with elegant stamped gold lettering on the front and spine. The book itself is flawless and appears unread, collector and gift quality. The dustjacket shows only extremely brief, very occasional and faint signs of use at the edges, the corners, and the spine ends, but the jacket has no significant flaws, and in most respects appears as Fine. The book itself is very clean, stain-free, square and straight, extremely firm and tight in its binding, with no pages loose, missing, folded or torn. The hinges are sound and undamaged, the corner points are sharp and unbumped. The pages are clean, clear, and unsmudged, still bright and white, and all text is sharp and very legible. There is no writing, underlining, highlighting or markings of any kind in the book. NO remainder marks. NO bookplates. NOT ex-library. The dustjacket is exceedingly clean, stain-free, complete and intact, has no tears, no chips or pieces missing, NOT price-clipped, no wrinkles or creases.
