Blue cloth with vibrant silver stamping to front board and spine; slight scuffing at spine ends and tips of boards' bottom corners. Blue top edge; light toning to fore-edge and bottom edge. Past owner's personal bookplate on front free endpaper; interior pages are otherwise clean. Binding is firm. Else a very good+ copy in a good dust jacket. Introduction by Ernest Hemingway on pages 7-9. John Groth, a member of Hemingway's "irregulars" and the illustrator of 1946 World Publishing reprint edition of Hemingway's "Men Without Women," reviews his WWII experiences in Europe as correspondent and artist. Author's b/w sketch illustrations throughout. Groth's work is held by a number of institutional collections including, most notably, New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Art Institute of Chicago.
