Soft cover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. 4to. Wrappers. pp.[iv], xiii, [33]. Published in conjunction with an exhibition of oil paintings by Jess held in May-June 1971. (The title is given as 'Translation' on the title page, 'Translations' externally.) This variant differs from the (taller) Black Sparrow Press special edition by listing Odyssia Gallery on the spine, first page (which is blank in the hardback) and title page, and the colophon has been adapted to specify the 1000 paperback copies. Lightly spotted to the head edge, slightly rubbed, and moderately bumped in places, the upper wrapper with a couple of short scratches/impressions near its tail edge, and a few leaves dog-eared (probably in production), but Very Good overall. This copy has been signed by Jess and inscribed to Tom (Raworth). Signed by Artist.

Add to basketStaplebound. Condition: Near fine. First Edition. Square large octavo, 4 loose sheets laid into a printed folder, as issued. Near fine with very mild edgewear and light occasional toning to the folder. A magnificent copy, SIGNED and INSCRIBED by Jess on the title flap to Jonathan Williams: "For Jonathan, the Poet, Jess '68." This volume emerged from Williams's own library. Note that this copy is not signed or initialed by Duncan (as he did on some copies of this portfolio). Nevertheless, a superlative association copy. Jess and his longtime collaborator Robert Duncan were both close to Williams.
