Red cloth binding, gilt lettering, 344 pages, the book is in very good condition with the name of a previous owner (the eminent and revered Oxford scholar and Hertford College fellow Anthony Cockshut) written softly in pencil to the front free end paper. The beige dust jacket with red lettering is fair with some light browning and some tears to the corners, plus some top edge creasing/chipping and moderate tears to each corner of the spine including one approximately 40 mm in length. A rare book in a fair jacket.
