8vo, pp xvi, 487, [1, adverts], bound in later half calf, spine gilt decorated with raised bands, a clean sound copy, SECOND EDITION, with a substantial section of papers and letters added at the end; this is the first London printing, the work having been previously printed in 1718, shortly after the Rebellion itself, and at the author's own printing press in Dumfries. It remains a valuable and authoritative first-hand account of the first Jacobite uprising, its republication timed to co-incide with the suppression of the second rebellion.
