A colorful tale of the Pink Knight who goes in search of a dragon who has just eaten the King's cook, and, if successful in slaying the dragon and bringing back the beast's heart, will be granted the King's beautiful daughter as a bride. The boards show some staining and scuffing along with some child's pencil scribbles; cover corners bumped and scuffed, and the edges of the boards are scuffed and worn; binding is firm, but there are a few cracks in the gutter of several signatures. Former owner's name in ink on front flyleaf; old accession # on top of page 51. All of the color plates are present and are bright and clean; book overall is in VG condition.

There are tears in the corners of the spine that are peeling the cover away, and revealing the binding. The cover has some soiling, scuffing and discoloration on the back cover. There are several cracks in the spine throughout the book. Some of the cracks reveal the binding and netting. The pages show reader wear. Previous owner's name inside. The binding is lose, but pages are still secure. Stock photos may not look exactly like the book.

Purple boards have a patches of fading at the top and bottom of the spine and bump to the bottom front corner but are otherwise unmarked. Page edges are browned with two small dark marks to the fore edges. Gift message to the original owner name on front free endpaper - this was Elizabeth Cockcroft (Liffie), daughter of Sir John Cockcroft the Nobel Prize winner. Pages are a little browned but otherwise clean and unmarked. The price-clipped jacket chipping to the corners with some loss at the top and bottom of the spine which is faded and two small closed tears to the top edge of the front panel.
