Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. F. De Myrbach (illustrator). First Edition. First printing. Green cloth with gilt decoration and lettering. The spine is slanted. There is a small rubbed-off area on the front board. A gift inscription, dated 1899, is on the front free endpaper. Otherwise fine in a sound binding with hinges intact. Size: 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

Softcover. Condition: Very Good. 12mo [190 × 130 mm]. pp. 289 + 2 pp. adverts. Mauve wrappers, lettered in black. (Quinton 2012, 25). Sunned, with front cover creased, wear to corners, pencil markings, dog-eared lower corners, and a wrinkled spine. Former owner's initials on the title page. Pages 9 and 55-59 dog-eared; otherwise interior clean.

Condition varies across the set: (i) bumped at heel, with spotting to page edges, foxing at extremities, inscription on frontis recto, sporadic pencil, and dampstain to rear; (ii) covers soiled with scuffed joints, mold spot on page edge, front joint starting, front free endpaper torn and dog-eared, owner's name on title page, p. 269-280 dog-eared, rear free endpaper present, and dampstain near upper rear; (iii) scuffed front joint and bumped heel, with dampstain and spotting to page edges, inscription on frontis recto, and faint foxing at extremities; (iv) lightly bumped at head and heel with faint foxing at extremities; (v) light bumping at heel and scuffing at head, faint foxing at extremities, with bookseller's receipt and Christmas tag laid in.
